1.1 Background of study.
Students have study how to control and using the milling machine and CNC Milling machine , Safety that must been taken when using the milling machine and CNC Milling and how to care this two machine. Students also learn how the CNC machine works. But they don't care about the differences between this two machine. Although conventional and CNC Machine have a same function that can use to machining the metal into the form we want (that we was design), but the machine have differences in the technologically.
The conventional milling machine only have 3 axis machine but CNC have a 3,4, and 5 axis that can machining the work piece faster and also have a high accuracy. That is one difference between the conventional and CNC machine. Although conventional milling machine and CNC milling machine have a disadvantages and advantages.The table below will show the advantages and dis anvantages between this two machine:-

1.2 Problem statement.
This research was conducted because manufacturing student have study how to use the two machines but student don’t know the different s of the machines. So we decide to choose this title so the manufacturing student can compare and understand more than their study about the machine.In the other hand student also know the effectiveness the two machine in manufacturing industry. Student should study more about this machine this is because in industry the two machine is very important in make a mechanical product such as automotive part.
This study uis also beneficial to students from the other faculty so they know what kinds of this machine? meaning?, What this machine can do and how this machine works.
1.3 Research Objective
To compare the effectiveness of conventional milling machine and CNC milling machine for UMP manufacturing student.
To know how to operate conventional milling machine and CNC milling machine.
1.4 Research Questions.
the reserch question is regarding to our objective.
1.4.1 What is conventional milling machine and CNC milling machine ?
1.4.2 How to operate of this two machine ?
1.4.3 What is difference of conventional milling machine and CNC milling machine ?
1.5 Definition Of terms.
CNC - CNC means Computer Numerical Control. This means a computer converts the design into numbers which the computer uses to control the cutting and shaping of the material.
1.6 Review of methodology
To make sure our objectives achieve we should make a research among the mechanical and manufacturing student. This is because we choose students that have study about the CNC milling machine and conventional milling machine. The research questionnaire is one of method that will accomplish our objective. This research question have a 15 questions regarding to our objective. We will make a research to 60 students that we will choose from the mechanical and manufacturing department. 30 students from mechanical department and 30 students from manufacturing department. Our group member will involve in this research.So each of member group will take 20 respondents each.
